About Our Company
Q: How do I arrange for care?
A: Simply call us at (630) 225-0100. We will arrange a FREE in-home assessment to determine if your needs and our services match. This assessment takes place prior to our caregiver’s beginning service. During the assessment, we may begin to develop an “individual service plan” with the client and family’s input.
Q: How much notice do you need?
A: We generally need 2 days notice, but we can place someone within 3 hours upon completion of the assessment.
Q: Can you do short-term care?
A: Our services are set up and priced for long-term care. However, we also accept short-term care.
Q: Is Innovative Homecare Solutions, Inc. licensed and bonded?
A: Yes, we are licensed by the State of Illinois and bonded as well. Likewise, we are covered by Workers Compensation coverage as required by law. Further, we are covered by comprehensive general liability insurance covering our employees while providing services to its clients.
Q: Are your services available in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or bedside sitting in hospitals?
A: Yes. We can provide services to clients who desire one-to-one companionship and personal care in various settings such as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and hospitals.
About Our Caregivers
Q: How do you train your employees?
A: All our care partners participate in a training program as required by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH). This includes the most practical topics and situations encountered in elder care giving, such as the Code of Ethics; Policies and Procedures; Infection Control; HIPAA Training; Fall Preventions; Dementia, and Alzheimer’s Training; Universal Safety Precautions; Blood Borne Pathogens; and Home Care Services and Professionalism. Additionally, some of our caregivers are Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), CPR, and First Aid Trained.
Q: How do you select your caregivers?
A: All our care partners are thoroughly interviewed, referenced, drug tested, criminal background checked, and screened. All our care partners are employees of Innovative Homecare Solutions, Inc., and are bonded and insured for your peace of mind.
Q: Who pays the caregiver—me or you?
A: We do. All our care partners are our employees and are paid through our regular payroll. We take care of all their payroll taxes, insurance, Medicare, Social Security, and worker’s compensation. You don’t have to worry about anything.
Q: Do you keep a journal in our home to document activities?
A: As a client, you will receive a folder with a notebook and a list of everyday activities to follow. This is a wonderful way that keeps family members aware of what is going on.
About Payment
Q: Does insurance cover the cost of non-medical home care?
A: Only long-term care insurance policies cover our services. Generally, health and medical insurance (HMO/PPO) does not cover our services. If you have long-term care coverage, we can accept the assignment directly from your insurance carrier and bill them on your behalf.
Q: Do government programs cover the cost of home care? Medicaid or Medicare?
A: Currently, Medicaid and Medicare do not cover non-medical home care services
Q: What are my payment options?
A: While Medicare does not cover sitter/companion services, your long-term care insurance may reimburse you for this service. We invoice on a weekly basis and accept an automated clearing house (ACH) and credit cards as payment.
